SITUATION (how to get there)

Pretoria Sailing Club is situated on the Rietvlei Dam, in the Irene area. It forms part of the Rietvlei Nature Reserve, which is strictly controlled by the Pretoria City Council.

Access is via the Johannesburg Airport / Pretoria Highway (R21). Take the Irene / Rietvlei off-ramp (Nelmapius Drive) to Rietvlei. An intersection will be encountered. This is the old Pretoria / Kempton Park main road. Go straight across this road, and after 600m, turn right at the main gate of the Nature Reserve / Waterworks.

CLASSES CATERED FOR

P.S.C. has a policy of encouraging Class sailing, but welcomes dinghies of all types. The Finn class is the most active currently, with Dolphins, GP14, Lasers, 505, Flying Dutchmen also at the club. Juniors are encouraged to commence their sailing careers in the Optimist and Dabchick classes.
Training is offered.

FACILITIES

The club offers adequate ablutions, and runs a full galley service during regattas. Liquid refreshments are made available. The wide lawn overlooks the water and racing. There is a small pub. Most boats are kept under cover and there are concrete launching slip ways. Overnight camping on the Club grounds is permitted at certain regattas.
